Prince George welcomes the “Pinball” at UNBC Legacy Breakfast

The biggest fundraiser of the year for UNBC athletics took place at the Northern Sports Centre on Tuesday which included a very special guest.

Toronto Argonauts and CFL Legend Mike “Pinball” Clemons was the guest speaker and centered his talk around one of the best athletes Prince George ever produced.

“My message was to be like Matt Pearce. He was an extraordinary member of this community and when I played against him he was not so nice to me hitting me a time or two. Matt made a big difference here as a teacher and union leader.”

PINBALL 5Clemons believes giving back to local universities makes a community stronger.

“When we support institutions like UNBC that are so significant in elevating the potential of our young people we become a better community. As our students thrive they achieve and do more ultimately that is what makes better communities.”

Clemons holds the CFL record for most all-purpose yards with 25,396 and won 4 Grey Cup titles.

UNBC matched every donation up to $15,000 during the breakfast.
