The Community Development Institute in Prince George wants you to celebrate arts and culture next week.
An event on Thursday(7TH) called the “Finding Rhythm in Your Community” will take place at the Bob Harkins Branch at 7 pm.
Events and Communications Project Assistant, Marli Bohdi believes the sector is crucial to the success of communities like Prince George.
“In many communities, the arts and culture sector play a key role in building economic diversification at events such as music festivals, concerts, theatre performances, art exhibits and cultural attractions draw people to purchasing tickets, meals, hotels and shopping.’
The evening will also feature a special guest. “Teresa MacQuarrie is a retired professor at Vancouver Island University, Choral Director and Music Organizer. She’ll be giving a presentation on arts and culture as a community and economic driver.”
Live music will also be performed by artist Raghu Lokanathan.
