Caps drop game 1 of Pacific Regionals

The Rocky Mountain Raiders got a measure of revenge on Friday shutting out the Northern Capitals 3-0 from the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

Kara Kondrat scored in the first to carry a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second, Rocky Mountan doubled its lead courtesy of a Breanne Trotter goal.

Nicolette Seper added the insurance marker for the Raiders who now take a 1-0 series lead in the best of three Pacific Regional Female AAA Hockey Final.

Kelsey Roberts made 38 saves in the loss for the Capitals.

Game 2 goes on Saturday at 5pm from the RMCA.

The winner represents the Pacific region at the Esso Cup from April 17-23 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

In the WHL (from Friday): Kelowna blanked Kamloops 4-0 to take a 3-2 series lead.

Spokane outscored Victoria 4-1 to cut Victoria’s lead to 3-2.

Regina whipped Lethbridge 7-2 to win the series 4-1.

Moose Jaw skunked Prince Albert 5-0 to win the series 4-1.

Red Deer got by Calgary 2-0 to go up 3-1.
