The World Baseball Challenge in Prince George continues to gain steam.
Four teams have confirmed they are coming to the northern capital according to Tournament Chair, Rick Pattie.
“Right now we have Japan, The Bahamas, United States and Canada. We have a little surprise in store with the Canadian team this year, I think the fans will be pleasantly surprised. ”
Pattie adds it’s a critical year for the tournament after it was originally scheduled for last year.
“The Canada Winter Games kind of kicked everybody in the but when it came to fundraising. We are determined since this is a year of make it or break it. We either get this tournament off the ground or it could be the end of us.”
Anyone wanting to volunteer can visit the tournament website at www.worldbaseball.ca
The tournament is slated for August 12th to 20th at Citizens Field.
