The Prince George Spruce Kings are looking ahead to next season by holding their annual Spring Camp this weekend.
It begins today (Friday) with registration and practices and runs until Sunday.
There will be no shortage of opportunities for players to make an impression according to General Manager Mike Hawes.
“We didn’t have the season we would have liked last year so players and their parents know we will have some openings. 14 wins is not acceptable in any season and there will be changes.”
The camp has netted some positive results.
“In the last four or five years, we have signed about 25 players from this camp that played directly on our roster and like I said it has been very successful for us and I am expecting the same this weekend”, said Hawes.
It concludes with a 40 player top prospects game at Sunday afternoon at 2 at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
About 30 Prince George kids will be in attendance in addition to the 70 other players, including several Bantams.
All players at the camp are born between 1997 and 2001.
