The labour force survey for March held steady for the amount if people working in Prince George.
Stats Canada Analyst, Vince Ferrao says while the employment numbers stayed the same, the jobless rate did not.
“This March compared to the last saw basically no change in the people working at 46,000. The unemployment rate was 5.7% this month compared with 4.5% a year ago.”
British Columbia had the fastest growth rate among all the provinces which equates to 72,000 more people working.
However despite the increase, the provincial unemployment rate went up to 6.5%.
