First Big Brothers Big Sisters Gala a hit

20160409_170837

About 170 people showed up Saturday night for the first-ever Big Brothers Big Sisters “Big Gala” at the Hart Community Centre.

Entering on a red carpet, event-goers entered the fancy dining hall draped with lights, cloths, and chandeliers.

Executive Director Tim Bennett is still beaming about the event.

“It was such a great night,” he says, “I think everyone came together and the generosity of Prince George really came through. We were able to generate some revenue to help us not only sustain the growth that our agency has seen but continue to then grow and serve more kids here living in Prince George.”20160407_100802

The goal was to raise about $12,000. While Bennett won’t have a final total until later in the week, he says the event definitely surpassed that goal.

He also hopes to turn this into an annual event.
