Gas Prices up seven cents in Prince George

The euphoria of lower gas prices in Prince George has come to a screeching halt.

Prices are 99.9 cents a litre at most locations in the city.

Gasoline could become even more expensive during the peak of summer according to Gasbuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst, Dan McTeague.

“If the U.S. demand picture continues to be as historical in terms of Americans going further in using more gasoline we could see prices moving back up into the $1.10 range but for now this is pretty much where we are going to be.”

However, the spike in price does not look as bad as it sounds. “At 99.9, it sounds like a big jump but it’s a combination of retailers keeping down their retail margins and at the same time wholesale prices picked up dramatically over the past week and a half.”

Costco and the Continental Way locations of Shell and Super Save are still at 88.6.

Two other Shell stations are also at 100.0 and 100.9 cents a litre.
