City seeking input for new parks strategy

The City of Prince George is looking to the public for input on their new parks strategy.

A series of five discussions throughout the city is set to begin at the College Heights Secondary School Tennis Courts starting April 27th at 6 pm.

Initiatives like these can prove to be valuable sounding board according to Strategic Parks Planner, Laurie Ann Kosec.

“We find out what’s happening in neighbourhoods and we can also help inform people about what is the inventory of parkland we are looking at and the various challenges we have in meeting people’s needs.”

Residents can also fill out an on-line form on the city’s website until April 26th.

Other times and locations for the forums include:

Saturday, April 30 Duchess Park Playground – 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Sunday, May 1 Canada Games Plaza – 10:00am to 4:00 pm (YMCA Healthy Kids Day)
Wednesday, May 4 – 6:00 to 8:00 pm Blackburn Community Hall
Thursday, May 5 – 6:00 to 8:00 pm Cpl. Darren Fitzpatrick Bravery Park
