LeBrun & Blackburn are Western Canada Cup champions

The BCHL champion West Kelowna Warriors skunked the Brooks Bandits 6-0 Saturday to win the Western Canada Cup junior A hockey championship in Estevan, Saskatchewan.

West Kelowna qualifies for the RBC national championship tournament, May 14-22 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.

Brooks earned the second berth after a 2-1 Sunday victory over the Portage Terriers.

Ex Spruce King Jake LeBrun picked up an assist while another former Spruce King, Brian Basilco, scored a goal in the victory over Brooks. Liam Blackburn did not get a point.

LeBrun and Blackburn are forwards from Prince George who played Major Midget with the Cariboo Cougars.

The 5 RBC participants are West Kelowna, Brooks, host Lloydminster, Trenton and Carleton Place.
