Lowes hiring 130+ in Prince George, job fair next week

With it’s Prince George location set to open near the end of this summer, Lowes is getting ready to hire.

The store will be hiring for 130+ positions including full time, part time and seasonal roles. Available jobs range from Department Managers and Sales Specialists to Night Crew, Cashiers, Customer Service Associates, Department Associates, Receiving Clerks and a Garden Centre Pro.

The company will be holding a job fair next week accepting applications and conducting on the spot interviews. A media release states that in some instances, offers of employment will be made onsite to successful applicants.

“We are excited to join the Prince George community and have a lot of great employment opportunities available,” said Fred Pagotto, Market Director of B.C. Stores, Lowe’s Canada.

“The new Lowe’s will create many new jobs in Prince George and we are committed to filling as many positions as possible locally. We are looking for passionate people who are ready to help our customers love where they live, and achieve their project goals and dreams.”

The job fair will be held inside Pine Centre Mall, next to Sears across from Homework

-Thursday June 2, 2016 – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
-Friday June 3, 2016 – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
-Saturday June 4, 2016 – 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Surprise visit brings big smiles to boy battling cancer in Quesnel

A young man battling eye cancer received a surprise visit over the Canada Day long weekend by a car club and motorcycle club in Quesnel. Over 50 vehicles from the Prospector’s Car Club and the Dangerous Curves Motorbike Club drove by and filled the dead-end roads near Kellen Harper-Frederiko’s house, with well wishes, toys to give to Kellen, and chances for him to sit in and on cars and bikes.

Some Northern Interior Health Unit services moving next year

Northern Health's Northern Interior Health Unit (NIHU) will be making a move in spring 2026.  According to Northern Health, the current NIHU building will be deconstructed after the move to make space for the tower.
