A Friday fire in Fort Fraser has claimed two lives according to the North District RCMP.
Two men aged 58 and 68 have been identified as the victims of the residential blaze on the 700 block of Birkshire Street.
Officers attended and observed two men inside and entered the residence to rescue both individuals – officers found the men deceased at the time of entry. Before they were able to recover the 2 men, the officers were pushed back out of the residence by thick black smoke.
The investigation has uncovered the fire was accidental and is now being investigated by the BC Coroner’s Service and RCMP.
