Citizen Field will be the site of the 2016 World Baseball Challenge in Prince George.
Organizer, Rick Pattie says teams from all over the globe will be coming. “We’ve got three teams confirmed at this point Japan, The Bahamas, and Sidearm Nation out of Calgary.”
There is also a chance a couple more teams could be added to the mix.
“I can tell you we are negotiating with a collegiate team from the United States, we’re still hopeful Cuba will come on board, they may be looking towards another program and may not be available. The other option could be a BC representative.”
The tournament is scheduled for August 12-20.
Anyone wanting to volunteer can call 250-613-5071 or by either visiting their website www.worldbaseball.ca and World Baseball Challenge Facebook page.
Tickets and game schedule is expected to be unveiled in early July.
