Prince George continued to see a small spike in the number of people holding down a job in May.
Stats Canada Labour Division Analyst, Vince Ferrao despite the increase, not a lot has changed numerically.
“We have 46,500 people working in the month of May compared with 45,600 who were employed during the same period last year, it was not enough to move the unemployment rate which stuck at 6.6%”
In BC, 69,500 more people were working last month which equates to a 3% increase.
However, the provincial unemployment rate remained the same at 6.1%
The national jobless mark is 6.9%.
