Prince George supporting FortisBC’s LNG fuelling stations

The city supports FortisBC’s idea to one day install LNG fuelling stations in Prince George.

Spokesperson Nicole Bogeanovic says Fortis is working to make our area and our province greener.

“BC’s transportation industry is responsible for the largest share of provincial greenhouse gas emissions in our Province so by converting this fleets and vehicles to natural gas we help the province meet its carbon emission reduction goals.

Bogeanovic adds this would mean greener, cheaper fuel going into municipal buses and private trucks.

“It would help these fleet owners reduce fuel costs and mitigate pollution associated with using diesel and it also helps support transportation and fleet vehicles that travel through central BC to get to other areas.”

She adds this idea is still in its very early stages. There’s not a time line for when, or if, this will happen.
