Trustees meet for final time of school year tonight

School trustees in Prince George hold their final meeting of the school year tonight.

The board will hear a presentation on the district’s aboriginal education programs, something the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council has been very vocal about recently.

SD57 has also been invited to take part in a bus route optimization project next year with the provincial government. The PG School district drives 3,700 kids to school every day.

The School Board will debate spending $32,000 to test schools for radon gas exposure. $432,000 may also be put towards parking upgrades at Nusdeh Yoh Elementary.

The elementary and high schools in McBride may merge into one for the 2017 – 18 school year, while grade 7 while move schools in Mackenzie.

The meeting gets underway at 7pm at the Ferry Avenue SD57 Board Offices.
