The Prince George RCMP found a body in a wooded area off of Highway 97 near the Massey Drive exit Sunday morning.
Police found the body around 10:50 AM after getting a call about an assaulted male in the area. The City Detachment’s Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section are working alongside the Coroner’s Service.
The male victim has not yet been identified and the Police have referred to this as a “suspicious death.”
Police say there’s no direct link between the body and the highway.
RCMP state there is no risk to the public’s safety.
Officers are still investigating and ask that you drive cautiously when using the Massey on-ramp to Highway 97, and when on Highway 97 Northbound from that ramp.
