Prince George could play big role in proposed propane port

A proposed propane terminal near Prince Rupert could mean jobs and money right here in Prince George.

AltaGas’s port would ship Canadian LPG to places like Japan where about 1 in 2 households use propane regularly.

With quick access to rails and trucks, Company Spokesperson Jennifer Osmar knows Prince George will be a big part of the project’s success.

“we want to be accountable and accessible to Prince George,” she says, “(we recognize that) we will be partnering with CN to move propane from northeast BC to our facility on the coast.”

If all goes well, the port hopes to be running in late 2018.
