Jason LaBarbera has a new job.
The 36-year-old from Prince George has been hired by the Calgary Hitmen as a goaltending coach.
LaBarbera played 187 games in net with six teams in the NHL over parts of 12 seasons.
He posted a 2.65 GAA and a .907 save percentage.
“I am really excited about this opportunity and moving onto the next chapter of my life,” said LaBarbera in a news release.
“I’m also looking forward to the challenges of coaching and being able to pass along some of my experiences to the guys on the team.”
LaBarbera played in 23 games last season with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms completing a 16-year pro career.
