Body found in Quesnel identified

The Quesnel RCMP have confirmed the identity of human remains found on July 23, 2016, near the Pinnacles Provincial Park as those of 47 year old Barbara Ann Smith. Ms. Smith had been reported as missing since July 3, 2016.

RCMP investigators are continuing to assist the BC Coroners Services with their investigation into Ms. Smith’s death. At this time RCMP investigators have not found any evidence to suggest criminality being a factor in her death. At this time, no determination has been made with regards to the cause of her death.

It has been established that Barbara Ann Smith had been last seen on Tuesday June 28th in Quesnel.
