90 millimetres of rain fell in Prince George during the month of July according to Environment Canada.
That’s 145% of normal.
The city was unable to receive any warm coastal air from California which helped contribute to the unstable weather according to Matt Macdonald with Environment Canada.
“We really haven’t seen any of that this summer and basically saw a tease of summer in April and May but as we head later into the season it’s just been upper low after upper low which has brought a lot of instability.”
The average temperature in Prince George was 15.8 degrees.
La Nina is expected as we head into late fall and winter which will bring cooler than normal temperatures and possibly more snow.
More rain is expected in this week’s forecast with the possibility of some thundershowers.
