The Canadian Women’s Rugby 7s team made history today, taking bronze in the sports first ever Olympic appearance.
Canada ran over Great Britain 33-10 in the third place match, revenge for a 22-0 loss against them in round robin play.
Canada lost in the semi finals to the team that went on to win gold; Australia. New Zealand took silver.
Williams Lake born Kayla Moleschi is the only team member to hail from BC. The Columneetza secondary graduate has been on the national squad since 2012.
This is the third medal for Canada at the Rio Olympics.
Congratulations from around the province have poured in for Moleschi on social media;
