Sun Devils pushed to the brink by Sidearm Nation

Canadian Sidearm Nation took a page out of the Roswell Invaders playbook on Tuesday by going yard twice as they doubled up the Kamloops Sun Devils 10-5 at the 2016 Ramada World Baseball Challenge.

After jumping out to a 2-0 lead after 3 innings Sidearm would pick up the pace on offense courtesy of a 2 run home run by Joey Underwood to make it 4-0 after 4.

1st baseman Jason Louis got in on the action by smacking a long ball out of the park bringing in another three runs for an 8-1 advantage.

Prince George product Brandon Hunter would inch the Sundevils a little closer with a 2 run shot in the 7th to cut the deficit in half to 8-4.

Kamloops would make it 8-5 heading into the 9th until Joey Underwood and Aaron Dunsmore added to more runs late to seal the victory.

Louis believes the 2-2 squad from Calgary is starting to gel. “I think everybody is finally getting comfortable with each other, we have some great players and everyone is starting to contribute.”

Sidearm Nations returns to action on Thursday when they play the Thurston County Senators at 4PM while the 0-4 Sun Devils return to action on Wednesday at 8PM against Japan.

Brennan Hegel, Brandon Hunter, Cole Laviolette, Doug Clark, Chris Clark, Angelo Desantis and Jon Bourassa are all Prince George products playing for the Sun Devils.
