Garage 529 app reaches over 500 users in Prince George

The public response for the Garage 529 app has been fantastic according to the Prince George RCMP.

528 people have registered since it was introduced back in June.

Corporal, Craig Douglass says he couldn’t be more pleased with the early success. “I think a lot of other communities are surprised by how well we are doing here, I think given our population base this is a very nice number to get in 2 months were much larger centres have less than 500 users.”

Douglass adds they always run into someone who has fallen victim to a bike theft.

“Just about everybody we’ve come across just about has a story about how they have had a bike stolen and they want to be as protected as possible. This is a good means to doing that and ensuring you have all the information recorded.”

The free registration process includes ownership details, serial number and photos of the bicycle.

The detachment will be at the Pidherny Trails from 1 to 4 PM on Saturday and at L’heidli T’enneh Memorial Park on Sunday also from 10 AM to 1 PM
