The Northland/Nissan Assault beat the BX Pub Bandits 11-10 to tie their best of five Prince George Senior Lacrosse semi-final series 1-1. John Makowsky led the way
for the Assault with three goals and six assists while teammate Craig Dunfield added four goals and one assist. Game three will be played Wednesday at 8pm at Kin 1.

–Eight Prince George Special Olympic athletes (who are joined by two coaches) compete at the Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games in Vancouver this week. A total of 1,300 athletes from 12 provinces will participate. PG will be represented in 4 of the 11 sports.

–Three Prince George athletes are set to compete at the Victoria Track Classic as part of the National Track League. Current club member 18 year old Zach Matyas will join former club member 24 year old Mike Butler in participating in the men’s 800m National Development event while former club member 19 year old Emma Balazs will compete in the women’s national development 1500m run.

–Women’s soccer player Jessica Manning of Prince George has decided to leave the UNBC Timberwolves after being accepted into the pharmacy program at UBC. Manning will begin at UBC in the fall while the UNBC women’s soccer team will open up its regular season at home on September 6-7.
