PG Sports Wednesday, July 9

The unbeaten Westwood Pub Devils stretched their overall winning streak in PG Senior Lacrosse to 14 games with a 17-10 victory over the Cowboy Ranch/Regional Security Stylers. Danton Nicholson scored six goals and added five assists as the Devils took a 2-0 lead in the best of five semi-final series.

–Prince George Inner City boxer Jag Seehra fights this week at the National Golden Gloves in Cornwall, Ontario. Seehra, one of seven members on the BC team, needs a gold medal in his 60 kg weight class to secure a spot at the Nationals in Toronto (October 28th to November 1st). There are nine boxers in Seehra’s division.

–Three athletes, with ties to the Prince George Track and Field Club, competed at the Victoria International Track Classic. 18-year-old Zac Matyas finished 5th and 24-year-old Mike Butler 6th in the national development men’s 800m. 19-year-old Emma Balazs was 8th in the national development women’s 1500m.
