First 529 Garage-registered bike stolen

For the first time, a bike registered on the RCMP’s 529 Garage app was stolen.

Police report it was taken from a carport on Notre Dame Drive Saturday afternoon, where it was left unlocked.

It was a grey 2009 Specialized SX Trail mountain bike with red rims and leather seat. It’s worth about $2000.

The report and recovery app told the bike owner to call the police. It also let every app-user within a 15 km radius know about the theft.

The RCMP is asking you to keep an eye out for the bike and you contact them or Crime Stoppers if you see it.
