The Prince George Cougars have promoted from within. At a news conference today at CN Centre, the Cougars named 45-year-old Todd Harkins as their general manager. He signed a four year contract with another year as an option.
Harkins joined the Cats last year as Head Scout and Director of Player Personnel. He had been acting GM since Dallas Thompson was let go at the end of the 2013-14 season. Harkins played pro hockey for 10 years, including a brief 48 game career in the NHL with the Calgary Flames and Hartford Whalers.

–The Cougars also extended the contract of coach Mark Holick by two more years.
