Pedestrian killed in Quesnel

One person is dead following a collision between a vehicle and two pedestrians.

Quesnel RCMP say they attended a serious accident on Friday night just after 7 o’clock on the corner of Front Street and Carson Avenue.

Police says a 38-year old man and a 35-year old woman were allegedly struck by a southbound vehicle near the intersection.

BC Ambulance attended and transported both people to GR Baker Hospital, but unfortunately the man later died in hospital from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision. However, the area was closed to traffic for several hours while investigators examined the scene.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
