Capitals sent into orbit by Comets

The Northern Capitals came out on the losing end of a three game set against the Vancouver Comets in BC Female Midget AAA hockey action which was capped off by 4-2 defeat on Sunday.

Nicole Wong opened the scoring for the host Comets roofing one past Caps goalie Olivia Davis.

Sarah Jarvis knotted things up before the end of the period making the score 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Mya Ziemer would give the Capitals their only lead of the game at 3:02 of the second period for a brief advantage but was shortly snuffed out by Michaela Read to keep it even on the scoreboard.

The game remained tied up until the halfway point of the third when Vancouver potted two goals in 50 seconds from Naomi Choong and Nina Jobst-Smith.

The Capital fell 5-1 on Saturday and 2-1 Friday evening with Wynona Creyke and Caily Mellott scored in defeat during both losses.

Capitals drop to 4-5 on the season and host the Fraser Valley Rush November 18-20.
