City of Prince George declares Rotary Week in the city

Prince George’s three Rotary Clubs were recognized on Monday to kick off Rotary Week.

Mayor Lyn Hall says there is one major contribution that comes to mind when it comes to the Rotary Club.

“The Prince George Youth Soccer Fields on the corner of 15th and Ospika is a contribution of our Rotary Clubs and it’s amazing how this venus is so prominent in our community. At one point, we had over 3,00 kids playing soccer in that fields.”

Rotary President, Ross Birchall says the group has also invested a ton into the downtown core.

“We have the downtown banners going down George Street and up 3rd, we’ve got the bike rack network and the Ket So Yoh men’s shelter that we have committed $10,000 a year to over three years.”

Another project the Rotary Club Spearheaded was the Skatepark at Corporal Darren Fitzpatrick Bravery Park.
