The positive effect of Canfor’s $300,000 donation to the United Way of Northern BC is still resonating at their office.
Campaign and Engagement Officer for Northern BC, Roberta Squire says it will help them support local initiatives right here in Prince George.
“It will assist the Hospice House, YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Spinal Cord and Brain Injury BC and some of the programs we do is STOP which is designed for people to stop taking things out on their spouse.”
The United Way also received $335,000 over the next two years to fight homelessness through the Homelessness Partnering Strategy.
Community Development Officer, Michele Brooke says anyone with proposals hoping for a piece of the pie, can mark down a date on their calendar. “We are going to have an information session on November the 17th from 3:30-5:00 at the Prince George Native Friendship Centre.”
The deadline to submit your proposals is 2PM on December 5th.
