UPDATE : Highway 97 near Pine Pass upgraded to single lane alternating traffic after semi crash

The Pine Pass on Highway 97 is now open to single lane alternating traffic after a single vehicle accident on Tuesday.

Corporal Madonna Saunderson with the North District RCMP says the accident happened about 10 km south of Powder King, when a commercial vehicle went off the road and into the ditch.

The vehicle was carrying an explosive substance which closed Highway 97 for most of Tuesday.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

Motorists are encouraged to check Drive BC to find out the latest status of Highway 97 .
