YMCA of Northern BC expanding child care services into the Nechako Valley

The YMCA of Northern BC is expanding their child care services to Fort St. James in the new year.

Director of Child Care Services, Lynette Mikalishen says it all came about rather quickly.

“We were approached by the Nechako Valley Family Services to see if we were interested as they built a child care center in the community and is a really great opportunity for us to expand.”

Fort St. James ranks high on the Early Development Instrument which gauges a child’s vulnerability when they hit kindergarten.

The new facility is expected to open in February and will be located at 349 Stuart Drive West.
