Highway 97 near Chetwynd re-opened after fatal crash

Highway 97 has since re-opened just south of Chetwynd following a two vehicle collision that claimed a life on Monday.

Corporal Madonna Saunderson with the North District RCMP says three others have been seriously injured.

The collision took place just before noon, 200 meters south of Mt. Le Moray.

Police believe “speed relative to road conditions” may have contributed to the crash.

According to Drive BC, the highway re-opened last night.
