PG’s holiday card winner picked by the city

Prince George’s Holiday Card Facebook contest is over.

The City wanted to see Prince George residents’ best and brightest images depicting “Prince George in the winter” in order to find a great, locally-produced photo for Mayor Lyn Hall and Council’s annual holiday card.

After 100 submissions, Mayor Hall has selected a photo entitled “A Walk in the Park” by resident Terry Wilson.

“First of all, this was a very difficult decision to make,” said Mayor Hall.

“This is an absolutely stunning region of the country that naturally attracts and nurtures incredible photographers who look to capture the beauty they see all around them in every season. Mr. Wilson’s photo is evidence of that.”

The City of PG is inviting Wilson to attend an upcoming meeting to receive thanks from the Mayor and Council members, a copy of the holiday card, and a framed print of the image he captured.

Organizers “extremely pleased” with Special Olympics BC Games

After two days of competition, the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games have come to a close.  The games brought around 900 athletes to the Prince George area to compete in ten different sports on Friday and Saturday.  "With any large, large tournament like this, you're always running with your hair straight back just to get everything ready, and we certainly managed to put everything together," said Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee Lyn Hall.
