PG falls in crime severity rankings

Prince George’s crime severity index is declining.
According to a new report from Statistics Canada, the volume and severity of crime has been in decline nationally since 2006, with PG sitting at 18th overall in 2013, compared to 14th in 2012.
Topping the list is North Battleford, Sask., with Williams Lake, Quesnel, and Terrace all in the top 10.
StatsCan also reports that though most offenses were down in 2013, some have been on the rise, including extortion, child pornography, aggravated sexual assault, sexual violations against children and identity fraud.
