Almeida earns Player of the Year award

The Prince George Cougars first round (5th overall) pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, Justin Almeida, has been named by Hockey Now as the B.C. Minor Hockey Player of the Year. Almeida earned the honor for his exceptional sportsmanship and leadership both on and off the ice, his hockey ability and performance, and academic and community achievements. He racked up 80 points and 67 assists in the 2013-14 season with the provincial champion North Shore Winter Club Winterhawks. Almeida will play the upcoming season as a 15-year-old with the Cariboo Cougars.
