I guess the Cariboo Cougars are ready for the Mac’s Midget AAA Hockey Tournament in Calgary.
That couldn’t have been more evident this weekend when the Cougars blitzed the North Island Silvertips by scores of 11-1 and 8-0 Saturday and Sunday.
The major midget Cougars erupted for 6 goals in the opening frame on Saturday coming off the sticks of Reid Perepeluk, Hunter Floris, Ty Kolle, Ty Maser, Brendan Rowley and Jeremy Gervais.
Perepeluk, Joel Patsey, Maser and Kolle all recorded multi-point game at the end of the opening frame.
Mason Richey joined the goal scoring parade early in the third followed by another marker from Kolle to finish off the assault.
Jared Winkel scored the lone goal in defeat for the Silvertips.
On Sunday, Cariboo continued its offensive onslaught against North Island including a breakout performance by Daine Dubois who potted four goals.
Mason Richey continued his fine weekend against North Island netting two goals and three assists.
Hunter Floris, Jonas Harkins, Darian Long and Brandon Rowley who netted a pair finished off the lamp-lighting for Cariboo.
In all four meetings against the Silvertips this season they have outscored them by a combined 36-3 margin.
Cariboo improves to 21-2-1-0 on the season and will return to BCMML action in Langley against the Valley West Hawks January 7 and 8.
