Spruce Kings can’t win in Wenatchee

The Wenatchee Wild jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead and never looked back as they skated to a 6-2 victory over the Prince George Spruce Kings on Friday.

Dakota Raabe, Jasper Weatherby and Charlie Combs slipped three past Prince George goalie Tavin Grant in the opening 20 minutes as they outshot them 17-6.

The game opened up a little more in the second as both teams scored two goals each keeping Wenatchee’s three goal lead at 5-2 after 40 minutes.

Brett Mennear and Chong Lee scored for the Spruce Kings while Combs and Troy Conzo replied for the Wild.

Combs completed the hat-trick in the third period.

Prince George was outshot 34-20 and will play Wenatchee again on Saturday.
