Cougars name Simmons Director of Scouting

The Prince George Cougars have promoted Bob Simmonds
to Director of Scouting. Simmons has been a scout with the Cats for the past seven years. General Manager Todd Harkins remains Head Scout for the team. Meanwhile, the Cougars have made a number of changes to their scouting staff. 27-year-old Bill Horton has taken over as Director of U.S. Scouting. The Cats also named Cariboo Cougars head coach Trevor Sprague a travelling scout and Tom Hengen a Lower Mainland area scout. As the travelling scout, Sprague will represent the P.G. Cougars at all B.C./Alberta high profile bantam tournaments and events during the season. Hengen joins the Cats after spending the past six seasons as Head Scout for the BCHL’s Penticton Vees. Hengen is the father of newly hired Cougars assistant coach Michael Hengen. The Cougars open Training Camp on Friday, August 22nd.
