Twenty-three thousand dollars was raised during the 2016 Raise A Reader campaign by the Prince George Public Library.
One of the organizations getting a piece of the pie is Polaris Montessori School.
Spokesperson Amy Dhanjal says it will go towards a specific project.
“It will compliment an existing partnership the school is doing with REAPS is a salmon spawning project and they will work with local author Clayton Gauthier who has written a book called “The Salmon Run” and he will go into their school and do an author talk.”
Other organizations receiving funds include:
Ecole College Heights, Heritage Elementary, Ecole Heather Park Elementary, Nukko Lake Elementary, Ron Brent Elementary, Peden Hill Elementary, Prince George Public Library, PG Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Blackburn Elementary, Southridge Elementary, Spruceland Traditional School, St. Mary’s School, Sacred Heart School, Learning Differences Centre of BC, Quinson Elementary, Prince George Native Friendship Centre and the YMCA.
