Minus eight degrees Celsius was the average temperature during the month of January in Prince George.
It comes as a bit of a shock when you consider the start of the month was bitterly cold followed by plus temperatures and rain towards the end of the month.
Despite everything that happened, Alyssa Charbonneau with Environment Canada says the precipitation levels might surprise you.
“44.6 millimetres was the precipitation in the month of January and when we compare that to normal, the usual average is 52.9 [mm] so it’s been a drier month than normal.”
Another cold snap is on the horizon with overnight temperatures dipping to -28C by Saturday.
