CN Rail is in the midst of clearing a derailment northeast of Prince George. Regional Manager of Government and Public Affairs Emily Hamer says at 6:15 this morning, the derailment occurred 90 miles away from the city.
“Initial indications show that eleven cars have derailed,” says Hamer, “subject to further inspection of the 127 car train.”
Hamer says the cars were empty sulphur and centre beam cars. No injuries or dangerous goods were involved in the derailment. She says a cause is being investigated.
