Avalanche Centre posts warning for weekend

Warmer temperatures may bring a spike in avalanches in the area this weekend.

That from avalanche forecaster, Shannon Werner who says the  coastal and inland regions of the Northwest are risky places to enjoy the backcountry right now.

Werner says people will be tempted to get out and enjoy recent new snow and sunny skies but anyone doing so is advised to use extreme caution.

She says over the past few days there has already been a lot of natural avalanche activity in the region.
