The Treasure Cove Provincial Senior C Invitational Lacrosse Championship will be take place this weekend at Kin 1. Five teams are entered, with four of them from Prince George, including the Westwood Pub Devils who went 19-0 in the regular season and the playoffs. The out of town entry is the Port Moody Express. Play begins Friday at 4pm with the gold medal game Sunday at 3:30.

–The Prince George Cougars added depth to their blue line when they acquired 18-year-old prospect defenceman Dominic Thom from the Brandon Wheat Kings in return for a conditional 6th round bantam draft pick. The 6’3”, 190 pound Thom had one assist in two games with the Wheat Kings last season.

–The semi-finals Friday at the under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup hockey tournament have Canada against the U.S. and the Czech Republic vs Sweden. The winners meet for gold Saturday. Jansen Harkins of the P.G. Cougars has three points in three games for the Canadian team.

–A total of six Prince George and area track athletes compete at the 2014 Canadian Legion Youth (16 and under) Championships Saturday and Sunday in Langley. Alex Nemethy, Lindsay King, Cole Dinsdale, Ryan Gaiesky, Shelby Jansen and Emma Floris are slated to participate.

–13 Prince George Pisces will be in the pool at the Provincial summer swim championships Friday to Sunday in
Kamloops.
