The current UNBC Timberwolves blanked the T-wolves alumni 4-0 in the UNBC men’s soccer alumni game. 18 alumni participated in the friendly at the North Cariboo Senior Soccer League fields. Rookie forward Conrad Rowlands (Chilliwack) scored twice in the first half while 3rd year striker Cheona Edzerza (Prince George) and first year Brandon Wallce (Chilliwack) each tallied once. The UNBC men’s soccer team continues preseason play Wednesday in Edmonton against MacEwan University.

–15-year-old Shelby Jansen of Athletics North (Prince George) finished 4th with a new personal best in the girls 300m final at the Canadian Legion Youth National Track and Field Championships in Langley. Jansen missed a medal by just 1/10th of a second. In other results: Ryan Gaiskey of Athletics North was 9th in the 300m hurdles and 20th in the 110m hurdles. P.G. Track Club member Alex Nemethy of Vanderhoof shaved nearly 20 seconds off his previous personal best in placing 9th in the 3000m race. The 17-year-old Nemethy also finished 8th in the 2000m steeplechase. 16-year-old Cole Dinsdale of P.G. ended up 10th in the 2000m steeplechase with a new personal best
while 14-year-old Lindsay King of the Prince George Club came 13th in the 200m hurdles. The P.G. Track Club will hold its annual awards BBQ on Sunday September 7th.
