The Prince George Cougars will welcome over 100 players to their training camp which begins Friday afternoon and concludes Monday night. The camp schedule is below:

August 22:
12:00 pm – Players Report to camp.
4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Young Guns Game (1998 and 1999-born players)

August 23
9:00 am – 10:30 am Team Chara vs. Team Byfuglien
10:45am – 12:15pm Team Hamhuis vs. Team Brewer
12:30pm – 2:00 pm Team Connolly vs. Team Betts
4:15 pm – 5:45 pm Team Chara vs. Team Brewer
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm Team Hamhuis vs. Team Betts
7:45 pm – 9:15 pm Team Connolly vs. Team Byfuglien

August 24
9:00 am – 10:30 am Team Chara vs. Team Betts
10:45am – 12:15pm Team Hamhuis vs. Team Byfuglien
12:30pm – 2:00 pm Team Connolly vs. Team Brewer
4:15 pm – 5:45 pm Team Chara vs. Team Hamhuis

August 25
10:00 am – 10:45am White pre-game skate
11:00 am – 11:45 am Black pre-game skate
7:00 pm White vs. Black Intra-squad game

*All Training Camp scrimmages and games are open to the public at no charge.

–Gemma Hansen of Prince George has finished her individual competition at the Canadian Sprint Canoe Kayak Championships in Regina. The 16-year-old D.P. Todd student did not advance to the final in any of her four races (U16 Women C1 1000m, U17 Women C1 500m, U16 Women C1 200m and U17 Women C1 6000m). It was the first time at Nationals for Hansen, who is in her 5th season of paddling. She has been with Team BC for the last three seasons.

–The Queensway Auto World Red Sox outscored the Inland Control and Services Tigers 9-7 in the second game of the Prince George Senior Baseball League best of five final. The Red Sox lead 2-0 and will go for a sweep when game three takes place Friday at 6:30pm at Citizen Field.

–The UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team scored twice in the 2nd half to beat MacEwan University
2-1 in pre-season play. The T-wolves have four more exhibitions in Alberta including a Friday game
against the FC Edmonton reserves.

–The UNBC women’s soccer team hosts MacEwan in pre-season games Saturday at noon and
Sunday at 10am at the Rotary fields.
