Beyond Hope Conference continues at Prince George Public Library

The Beyond Hope Conference continues today at the Prince George Public Library’s Bob Harkins Branch.

“We organize the conference every other year to bring together library staff from throughout BC but primarily from northern BC, to create opportunities for education sessions and collaboration,” says Amy Dhanjal, conference co-chair.

Over 130 delegates made the trek to the northern capital over the course of two days, which also includes a keynote speaker.

“We have Ian Coyote here doing a presentation to that respect and then we have somebody speaking about ‘How to Mentor When to Coach and Understanding the Difference’ – then another session is ‘Social Media for the Non-expert,’” says Dhanjal.

Other sessions include ‘Ten Ways to Make Your Library More Accessible’, and ‘The Reconciliation Comission: Thoughts on Process and Practice for Respectful Responses to the Calls for Action’

The two-day gathering began on Monday.
