A detour is now available following Monday’s washout on Highway 20 near Williams Lake.
According to Drive BC, the alternate route is from Soda Creek Road, Buckskin Road, West Fraser (South) Road and Chilcotin Meldrum Road was set up last night.
It is well signed with single lane sections and traffic control.
The North District RCMP says a vehicle with one person inside was seen being washed away during a land mudslide on Monday.
The driver was pulled from the water and later taken to hospital.
A further update is expected on Wednesday.
